Rio de Janeiro has a severe heat warning for the weekend
The National Institute of Meteorology predicts that on Sunday (11) the temperature in the capital will reach 38 °C

The Health Intelligence Center of the State of Rio de Janeiro warns of severe heat, during the weekend, in Belford Roxo, Japeri, Marica, Piraí, Queimados, São Gonçalo, Seropédica, Nova Iguaçu, Guapimirim and Itaguaí. In the capital, the extreme condition should begin on Sunday (11).
According to the (Inmet), the forecast is that the temperature in Rio will reach 38 °C on Sunday.
On Friday (9), the capital reached the second level of the Heat Protocol (on a scale of five levels), at around 9:45 am. A temperature of 37.6 °C was recorded in Vila Militar, in the West Zone of Rio.
