Road users warn of icy roads: Drivers are also at risk of a snow disaster

On Saturday morning you have to watch out for icy snow in the districts of Banská Bystrica and Žilina and on the Donovaly, Vrchslatina and Štós mountain passes. The road through the Príslop crossing is closed to vehicles over 12 meters in length. Road II/531 in the Muráň – Červená skala section and also the Vernár crossing are closed to freight traffic longer than ten meters.

Routes I., II. and III. classes are passable with restrictions, the road surface is mostly moist to wet, sometimes dry. There is a layer of fresh, slushy or compacted snow on road surfaces in higher elevations of central and northern Slovakia, in the eastern part of the Košice Region, in the south of the Nitra Region and in the Trenčín Region.

Mountain passes are passable with restrictions, the road surface is mostly dry to wet. Passages Zbojská, Veľké Pole, Cukmantel, Dobšiná, Homôlka, Šútovce, Oravská Lesná, Huty, Podspády, Klenov and Herlianske Sedlo have road surfaces covered with a layer of slushy or compacted snow.
