There is no crisis in the played game of politics – 01/10/2026 – Dora Kramer

The President of the Republic gave a message to his electorate, and the opposition —including occasional allies—reacted with the gesture that his voters expected from him. And that was all that happened, followed by the promise of overthrow in Congress.

There is no crisis or rupture in sight, just the game of politics played in an election year. The conflagration design adds drama to the scenario, reinforces fans, strengthens analyses, but does not accurately translate reality.

In this 2026 struggle for power, the streets are needed more than Parliament. The converse is true: opposing deputies and senators do not need him to speak at the polls either. It’s everyone for themselves and the war of versions at the service of everyone.

No big deal in the absence of the presidents of the Chamber and the three-year anniversary of the coup attacks. Both had already failed to sanction the Income Tax exemption and discount law. For the same reason: they belong to the ideological spectrum opposed to re-election and, as far as possible, they will avoid putting olives in Lula’s pie.

() and () could have done something in reference to the day in which the Power they preside over was vandalized, but they preferred not to disagree with the sponsors of the change in legislation to help those convicted of attempted insurrection.

The Executive and Legislative branches made electoral choices, far removed from the character of a broad front in defense of democracy that permeated the environment in 2022/2023.

The Federal Supreme Court remained at the point of balance. The ministers did not go to the Palace, they stuck to the topic at hand at the ceremony itself and stayed away from a clash over which they will be provoked after the likely overturn of the veto.

As common sense prevails from then on, the STF will apply the law as dictated by Parliament and, without hesitation, will let politics resolve its disputes.
