In the case concerning Czech wrestler Karel “Karlosa” Vémola the police charged two more people with drug crimes. In total, five persons have already been prosecuted for the distribution of cocaineof which four are being prosecuted in custody according to station ČT24. This was confirmed on Friday by Lucie Šmoldasová, spokeswoman for the National Anti-Drug Headquarters of the Czech Police, reports the TASR reporter in Prague.
“At the beginning of the year, two other men, both Czech citizens, were charged in this matter. Both were prosecuted for illegal production and handling of narcotic and psychotropic substances and poisons. while one faces up to 12 years in prison, the other 18,” Šmoldasová was quoted by the Novinky.cz server. Police initially arrested Vémola and two other men on December 23 and charged all three at the time with particularly serious organized crime involving drugs on an international scale. They face 18 years in prison.
For mixed martial arts (MMA) Vémol, this is not his first drug-related run-in with the law. In the past, he was already convicted of a drug crime in Britain, for which he was in prison for several months.
After Vémol’s jaw surgery, the fans received another message from Karlos’ team. He addressed them on Instagram. “Karlos greets everyone and thanks for the constant support he receives. He says that he feels better. Karlos will undergo post-operative treatment, which should last another 5-6 weeks, in the Pankrác remand prison’s hospital and polyclinic, where he is still being held.” the Vémol team posted on Instagram.
