On X, formerly Twitter, the vice president stated that the now former Minister of Justice has “admirable public spirit” and “loyalty to the supreme values of the democratic rule of law”. Retired from the Federal Supreme Court (), Lewandowski was appointed government minister in January 2024.

“In addressing this sincere testimony to you, I praise the scope and importance of your exceptional services provided to our country, extolling them as worthy of the respect and admiration of all Brazilians”, wrote Alckmin. Ricardo Lewandowski’s dismissal was published in the Official Gazette of the Union (DOU) on Friday (9). In his place, Manoel Carlos de Almeida Neto, executive secretary of the Ministry of Justice, took over on an interim basis, the highest position below State ministers.
