The Institute of Respect for Advocacy filed a request on Wednesday (7) with the federal council of the (Brazilian Bar Association) for the body to request the removal of the secrecy decreed by the minister, of the (Federal Supreme Court), on the case.

The petition, signed by the president of the institute, Sérgio Antunes Lima Júnior, and the vice-president, Daniella Martins Carvalho, argues that judicial secrecy should be the exception and that, in cases involving the financial system and possible conflicts of interest of public agents, the rule should be publicity.

They also emphasize that there is evidence that investigations are not restricted to the criminal sphere, “impacting other areas, especially consumer areas”.
