The Minister (Human Rights) signed this Friday (9) ordinances that recognize Ivo and André Herzog, sons of the journalist, murdered in 1975 by the military dictatorship after being tortured, as political amnesties.
The ordinances are expected to be published in the Official Gazette of the Union on Monday (12).
Herzog was murdered on October 25, 1975 and his death was announced as a suicide. The episode generated protests, student strikes and public questions amid the state of exception that punished challenges to the military regime.
The journalist’s children will receive an official apology from the Brazilian State and an economic reparation of R$100,000 each.
