At the beginning of the year, the world’s three largest economies are developing very differently. While the US is experiencing a rapid recovery, the European Union appears to be stuck in uniformly low growth and China is experiencing unbalanced growth. Although the challenges facing these economies differ significantly, they have one thing in common: economic policy has little influence on their prospects.
