Kauã Barbosa de Aguiar, 19 years old, was shot in the early hours of this Sunday (12) while walking along Rua do Mercado, in the Belo Jardim II neighborhood, in the Second District region of Rio Branco.

According to police information, Kauã was traveling along the road when he was surprised by criminals who were in a black vehicle. The passenger in the back seat pulled out a firearm and fired several shots at the victim. One of the projectiles hit the young man’s left leg, causing a wound with only an entrance hole. After the shots, the criminals fled the scene.
Even though he was injured, Kauã managed to run to Travessa do Lago, where his residence is, and asked for help from a couple of neighbors, who called the Military Police and the Mobile Emergency Care Service (Samu). Two ambulances were sent to the scene, one for basic support and the other for advanced support. However, only the basic support unit provided assistance, managing to stabilize the victim’s clinical condition.

The advanced support ambulance was unable to assist the young man, as the injury was not considered serious and the basic support paramedics were able to successfully provide first aid. Kauã was taken to the Rio Branco emergency room, where he remains in stable health.
The Military Police isolated the area for Technical-Scientific Expertise work and collected information from witnesses. Searches were carried out in the area, but the suspects were not located.
The case is initially being investigated by agents from the Civil Police’s Ready Employment Team (EPE) and will be forwarded to the Homicide and Personal Protection Police Station (DHPP).
