BRB (Bank of ) asked the (Federal Supreme Court) for access to the investigation against . By decision of the minister, the investigation is in the STF with , a condition in which even simple information, such as the list of lawyers working in the case, is hidden.
In a note to the Panel, the public bank of Brasília said that the request was made through the office hired to investigate the operation that ended in September.
“BRB informs that it requested, through the office contracted to conduct forensic audits, authorization to access all investigative procedures, within the scope of Operation Compliance Zero. Banco BRB highlights that it awaits the Court’s decision on the requests made”, said BRB.
After the operation that led to Vorcaro’s arrest and, in November, the BRB announced the hiring of Machado Meyer Advogados, with technical support from Kroll Associates Brasil, to conduct an independent investigation.
“The reports will be made exclusively to the Independent Investigation Committee made up of executives with no ties to BRB bank in the period analyzed,” said the institution in a press release on December 2.
Appointed by the Federal Police and the MPF (Federal Public Ministry), BRB is now trying to go from buyer to possible accuser. On November 28, the BRB Board of Directors decided that it will ask the Court to stop the process when there are defendants.
