Former councilor Carlos Bolsonaro (PL-RJ) stated this Sunday that doctors were called to assess the health status of former president Jair Bolsonaro, who has been imprisoned since the end of November at the Federal Police Superintendence in Brasília, where he is serving a sentence of 27 years and three months, imposed by the STF for his involvement in the attempted coup d’état.
According to Carlos Bolsonaro, his father is experiencing a worsening of a clinical condition that includes persistent bouts of hiccups, constant heartburn and episodes of vomiting, which, according to the former parliamentarian, has made eating and sleeping difficult.
In a post on social media, Carlos Bolsonaro said that the doctor accompanying the former president was called to the unit where the former president is held after the symptoms evolved. He also stated that Bolsonaro suffers psychological distress, worsened by the fact that he is, according to him, “alone in solitary confinement”.

“The serious psychological damage he suffers is also noticeable, made worse by the fact that he remains alone in solitary confinement,” says Carlos in the publication.
At the same demonstration, the councilor informed that the former president’s defense filed, at the weekend, another request for humanitarian house arrest with the STF. According to Carlos Bolsonaro, at the time of posting, the request had not yet been analyzed by the Court.
Carlos Bolsonaro also released an image that, according to him, would record Jair Bolsonaro during bouts of vomiting. The councilor attributed the health problems to the consequences of the stab wound suffered by the then presidential candidate in 2018, during the election campaign.
