The Cuban President rejected Donald Trump’s demands regarding the oil agreement with Venezuela, reaffirming the island’s sovereignty and independence.
After Donald Trump’s threats, Cuba said it was ready to defend the country “to the last drop of blood”. The Cuban President guaranteed that the island is free, independent and sovereign, and that no one has the right to say what the country can or should do.
Donald Trump had asked Cuba to reach a agreement on the oil it receives from Venezuelabefore it was “too late”.
The President of the United States highlighted that Cuba has received, for years, large amounts of oil and money from Venezuela, but warned that this situation would end.
Venezuela is one of the Cuba’s main partnerssending more than 35 thousand barrels of oil to the island.
