The STF’s recess began in December and runs until the end of January. During this period, the Court works on a shift basis to analyze urgent cases, both new and processes that were already underway.
In addition to Moraes, ministers André Mendonça, Gilmar Mendes, Dias Toffoli and Flávio Dino are also on duty.
In November, Moraes had already presided over the STF on an interim basis, when Fachin traveled to Belém for commitments linked to the Climate Summit, a preparatory event for COP30.
