João Cotrim Figueiredo denies the accusation of harassment of a former advisor. The presidential candidate says it is another form of “dirty politics” and guarantees that he will move forward with a defamation lawsuit.
Despite the insistence, the candidate, supported by IL, repeated several times that the complaint is “completely false”, which is why he has an “absolutely clear conscience”. “It’s clear from me that this allegation is completely false. Is it clear?” he asked.
“Ask any of the dozens of women who have worked with me over the years if they have any reason to complain, including the women who worked with me at the same time as this lady.”
The presidential candidate also speaks of an “attack on a candidacy that has been growing, coming from outside the system’s parties and that concerns vested interests.”
“The slander that is circulating about my alleged behavior is completely baseless. It is of a gravity that cannot be allowed to pass without a reaction and, for this reason, in addition to this clarification, I will sue the person in question for defamation, regardless of their circumstances and the functions they perform in one of the offices of the current Government”, reads the statement issued by him after the complaint became known.
