Retirees who started receiving payments in February 2025 will have a proportional increase; check the percentage table for each month
Retirees and INSS (National Social Security Institute) pensioners who receive more than the minimum wage will have a 3.9% increase in their remuneration from February onwards. With the correction, the ceiling on Social Security benefits will increase from R$8,157.41 to R$8,475.55.
The correction is equivalent to the INPC (National Consumer Price Index) released on Friday (January 9, 2025) by the IBGE (Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics). The index measures inflation for families with incomes of 1 to 5 minimum wages.
The 3.9% adjustment will be paid in full to policyholders who already received benefits above the minimum until February 1st of last year.
For those who have received payment since February, they will have an adjustment proportional to the concession period. Therefore, those who started receiving more recently will have a reduced adjustment rate.
Read the percentages below:
- January: 3.90%
- February: 3.90%
- March: 2.38%
- April: 1.86%
- May: 1.38%
- June: 1.02%
- July: 0.79%
- August: 0.58%
- September: 0.79%
- October: 0.27%
- November: 0.24%
- December: 0.21%
The rise in values does not replace last year’s inflation, since the IPCA (Broad Consumer Price Index) for 2025 reached the mark of 4.26%. The difference between the price index percentages therefore indicates a loss of purchasing power for the group of insured people.
