At least a third of the Brazilian population with access to IT makes use of (AI) tools, according to a survey by Cetic.br (Regional Center for Studies for the Development of the Information Society). The majority are concentrated in age groups from 10 to 34 years old.
AI users correspond to around 50 million people aged 10 or over, according to the most recent data from TIC Domicílios, an annual survey by Cetic.br, carried out since 2005, which maps the access and use of information and communication technologies –hence the acronym TIC– via the internet.
The research indicates that the age group that uses AI the most is between 16 and 24 years old, with 55% of respondents in this segment admitting to using the tools. Next come audiences between 25 and 34 years old (44%) and between 10 and 15 years old (40%).
Individuals over 35 years of age reported less use of technology. The survey shows that from 35 to 44 years old, only 30% said they use AI. The percentage reduces as age increases: between 45 and 59 years old, AI users account for 18% and, among those aged 60 and over, only 6%.
The survey also asked respondents who do not use AI why they do not use the tools. The majority of people aged 60 and over were (72%) justifying that they lack the ability to use it.
In the 16 to 24 age group, the most frequent of the tools, 84% of those who do not use them claim to do so due to lack of interest or need.
Younger individuals, between 10 and 15 years old, are mostly looking for AI (88%). The group between 35 and 44 years old has 90% of AI users saying they seek it.
From 35 to 59 years old, 65% said they use artificial intelligence for professional purposes.
For the first time in 20 years, TIC Domicílios included data on AI and the behavior of Brazilians. The result was released on December 9, 2025.
The survey personally interviewed 24,535 people from all regions of the country between March and August 2025. Respondents were selected according to information from the Demographic Census and Continuous National Household Sample Survey (PNAD), both carried out by .
