Many people have noticed dry skin in winter. Most of us immediately grab the fatty cream, which is a mistake. Dermatologists and cosmetologists recommend implementing a skin care ritual – skin flooding. It’s about thoughtful, layered application of specific cosmetics that are responsible for gradual rebuilding of hydration.
In skin flooding, you should first cleanse the skin thoroughly to prepare it for maximum hydration. Thanks to this, subsequent cosmetics will be better absorbed.
Cleansing the skin is important in every skin care routine. Removes makeup remnants, impurities, excess sebum and all traces of fatigue. If we skip this step, the pores will become clogged, blackheads will appear and inflammation will occur on the face.
Regular cleansing prevents imperfections and irritation. We recommend choosing moisturizing cosmetics with a gel consistency. They easily remove all impurities and at the same time do not burden the skin. After washing, it is clean, fresh and “light”.
Moreover, such gels are very efficient. Just a small amount is enough to wash the entire face. They foam well and rinse off well.

To prevent the skin from drying out during frosts, the next step is to tone it. Toner is an often overlooked cosmetic, but it is very important in moisturizing the skin.
After cleansing your face, its pH may be temporarily disturbed. Thanks to toning, it is restored. The skin becomes less susceptible to irritation and the protective barrier is preserved. This is especially important in winter, when frost and wind can really weaken it.
It is worth knowing that the tonic supports the regeneration and oxygenation of the skin. In addition, it soothes irritations and helps control sebum secretion. Just make sure that the cosmetic has a delicate, alcohol-free formula.
For people with sensitive and vascular skin, we recommend choosing a cosmetic containing ingredients such as panthenol, allantoin, betaine or aloe. They have a soothing effect.
After cleansing and toning the face, we can finally move on to applying a moisturizing cream. Lipids will then be replenished and the protective layer will be further strengthened. The skin will be fully prepared for external factors, i.e. frost, wind, smog.
These are not the only advantages of using a moisturizing cream. TThanks to it, the skin becomes elastic and full of youthful glow. Without it, dryness, irritation, redness and tension-related discomfort may occur.
The last stage is applying a protective/barrier cream to the face. In his opinion, the goal is to create a delicate layer of protection against external conditions (frost and wind in winter). It is also intended to prevent excessive evaporation of water from the skin.
It is recommended to use protective creams with an SPF sunscreen protecting against unfavorable UVA radiation. BB creams with a protective function are also effective.
At night, it is worth applying oil or oil serum as the last stage of skin flooding. These cosmetics will be perfect for dry, dehydrated and sensitive skin.
