Former Vasco and Fluminense player calls Vinicius Júnior an “unappreciative clown”

Former Fluminense and Vasco player, Carlos Alberto Gomes, known as “Pintinho”, gave a controversial interview in which he criticized Real Madrid striker Vinicius Júnior.

Pintinho, who played for Sevilla, Cádiz and has lived in Spain for four decades, was tough against the player.

“This one is a clown and an unappreciative person. They took him out of ruin in Brazil and look how grateful he is. Here [na Espanha] he is dizzy and provocative. I’ve lived here for 45 years and people treat me very well”, .

Without modesty, Pintinho also spoke about how he influenced and was critical, especially with a pair of midfielders.

“Romário learned from me… When I played for Vasco, he and Juninho were youngsters, but they trained with the main team so that Zagallo could see them. He was good, but we gave a lot of beatings. Orlando, the defender, hit him”, remembers the carioca.

“Dunga and Mauro Silva ruined Brazilian football. We won the World Cup [de 1994] and, since then, it’s been necessary to put two bad guys behind the wheel, running around like crazy without knowing how to play”, he added.

Carlos Alberto Gomes was Rio de Janeiro champion in the 1970s and 1980s, and also played for the Brazilian team.
