The leader of the French far right, Marine Le Pen, returns to court to appeal her sentence. Marine Le Pen was sentenced in March last year, for embezzlement of European funds, to four years in prison, two of which to be served under electronic surveillance, a fine of 100 thousand euros and immediate disqualification for five years. Confirmation of this sentence could prevent the French far-right leader from running in the 2027 presidential elections.
