Taiwan reached agreement on trade deal with US


Taipei/Washington/Beijing – Taiwan has reached a “general consensus” with the US on a trade deal after months of negotiations, according to Taiwanese negotiators. The negotiating partners reached an agreement on “mutual tariff reductions” and “preferential treatment” for “semiconductors, semiconductor derivatives and other items” from Taiwan, according to the responsible authority for trade negotiations on Tuesday. A date is now being sought for a final meeting between both sides.
