Mama z Wisconsinu, Courtney Liniewski (34), she thought the back pain was simply the result of sitting at a desk for long periods of time. Everything changed when she felt a swelling in her neck while on vacation in Mexico in February 2022. informs the portal
“It wasn’t painful, I just felt a lump like I was having an allergic reaction,” he mentions. Shortly after, she had trouble breathing, couldn’t walk up the stairs, and felt severe chest pain. After returning home, the doctors immediately sent her for a CT scan. The result was shocking: an 11 cm tumor in the chest, which meant stage 3 follicular lymphoma.
“At that moment I was hysterical, crying a lot and panicking. I was thinking the worst,” Courtney said. Within two weeks, she started the demanding chemotherapy, but fortunately she already received it in July of last year the news that she beat cancer.
Courtney is now pointing out a warning sign she ignored in late 2021 – intense back pain between the shoulder blades. She thought it was just the result of sitting while working. “The pain was sharp and intense, but I thought I was just not moving too much,” he mentions. Later, other unusual symptoms appeared: hearing loss in the left ear and a constant runny nose. Even this did not seem serious to her.
Today, three years after beating cancer, Courtney still has regular checkups with her oncologist because the cancer can come back. “It was amazing when they told me I was cured, but I was still scared. The cancer was aggressive and will probably come back at some point, but I haven’t needed any more treatment since then,” she adds.
Courtney is now appealing to everyone not to compromise their health. “If something seems wrong, don’t be afraid to check it out. Today’s cancer treatment is much more effective than it used to be, and people survive much more often. It’s worth fighting for yourself.” she concluded.
