The president of the United States, Donald Trump, has escalated his statements of support and has called on “the patriots” who participate in them to “take over the institutions.” In a message on his social network, Truth, the president has also announced the cancellation of planned contacts between his Administration and Iranian representatives. In previous days, the Republican has been threatening the use of force to support the mobilizations. The message ends: “Help is on the way. MIGA,” an acronym for Make Iran Great Again, a variation of its MAGA motto.
“Iranian patriots, keep protesting – take over the institutions!!! Save the names of the murderers and those who abuse you. You will pay a great price,” says the US president, who was scheduled to meet this Tuesday with his national security team to study the response to the violent repression of the protests.
