United States President Donald Trump stated this Monday (12) that any country that does business with Iran will face a 25% tariff “on any and all business carried out with the United States of America”.

Trump’s announcement comes at a time when the oil-rich Middle Eastern country is struggling to contain a wave of large anti-government protests.

According to data from the Comex Stat platform, the Ministry of Development, Brazil exported US$2.920 billion to Iran in 2025 and imported US$84.594 million in the same period. As a result, the bilateral trade balance recorded a surplus of around US$2.84 billion in favor of Brazil.
The US president has been openly encouraging protests against the Iranian regime. “Iran is looking to FREEDOM, perhaps like never before. The US is ready to help!!!”, he wrote on Saturday (10).
