The body becomes cold, body temperature drops, sleep is superficial and intermittent. An object under the blanket helps.
It’s a feeling that millions of people have. And, in winter, even more frequently: take longer to fall asleep because their feet are cold.
The body becomes cold, body temperature drops and sleep becomes shallow and intermittent. This makes it difficult to fall asleep.
But, as (from Ukraine, where the cold abounds at this stage) highlights, there is a “trick” simple that warms your feet. You may be forgotten, but there’s not much to study.
Put a small warm object under the blanket – which will keep you warm for several hours.
Which object?
Several options: bottle of warm water, electric heating pad, bag of grains or heated salt before bed; or modern reusable foot warmers.
The important thing is to choose an option segura to avoid burns.
How does it work?
Warm feet signal to the body that it is time to relax, blood circulation improves, the body relaxes more quickly and the sleep comes more easily and more deeply.
Several scientific studies confirm: warming your feet reduces the time needed to fall asleep and improves sleep quality – yes, especially in winter.
Tips
The heated object should be pleasant, not too hot. The ideal temperature is comfortable heat.
Place the object under a blanket, at foot or ankle height. The heat rises, warming the body gently and evenly.
It has to be safe. Be especially careful with electric heating pads.
For an even better effect, use warm wool or cotton socks – retain heat and enhance the effect of the “trick”.
for Kiev, for this Tuesday: 8 degrees below zero…as a maximum. The minimum will be 15 degrees below zero.
