Durigan: Selective Tax bill must be presented to Congress

BRASILIA, January 13 (Reuters) – The executive secretary of the Ministry of Finance, Dario Durigan, stated this Tuesday that the government intends to present the project that regulates the new Selective Tax to the National Congress in February.

At a press conference on tax reform, Durigan said that the text is ready in the government’s technical area and will be presented to party leaders after the end of the parliamentary recess, before the text is formally sent.

Created by the tax reform on consumption, the Selective Tax will apply to products and services that are harmful to health, with a scope to be defined by the bill.
