FIFA (International Football Federation) defined this Wednesday (14) the basis of each selection during the 2026 World Cup. The Brazilian team, according to the preference indicated by the technical committee of the CBF (Brazilian Football Confederation), will stay and train in New Jersey.
After visiting different facilities recommended by FIFA, Brazil chose RB New York’s Columbia Park Training Facility as its training ground. The site is currently undergoing expansion and modernization works. The delegation will be hosted at The Ridge, in Basking Ridge.
Carlo Ancelotti’s team will start their campaign on June 13th, a Saturday, at 7pm (Brasília time) at the MetLife Stadium, against Morocco. The stadium is located in the city of East Rutherford, in the metropolitan area of New York and New Jersey and will also be the stage for the grand final, scheduled for July 19th.
Afterwards, the yellow-green team goes to Philadelphia, where they will face Haiti on the 19th, a Friday, at 10pm (Brasília time), at Lincoln Financial Field. And it will end its participation in Group C on the 24th, a Wednesday, against Scotland, at the Hard Rock Stadium, at 7pm (Brasília time), in Miami Gardens, on the outskirts of Miami.
“We are very satisfied with this definition. The training center is new, modern and offers all the conditions for our work, before and during the World Cup. I want to thank Red Bull for welcoming us and showing us all the space, which was desired by other teams”, said the Italian coach.
The commander also highlighted the “privacy” that the hotel chosen by the CBF will be able to offer its recruits. “We will have everything necessary to do a good job in the World Cup. Furthermore, the distances are short, and this influenced our decision”, he stated.
According to the CBF, the journey to the New York stadium, where Brazil will make its debut, takes around 30 minutes. Between the hotel and the training center the journey takes 15 minutes.
Before defining its base, members of the CBF selection department visited several locations in recent months. They were in hotels and CTs in cities such as Orlando, Seattle, Portland, Dallas, Nashville, Boston, Kansas City, San Diego, Los Angeles and, finally, locations in New York and New Jersey.
