Iran threatened to strike in the event of a US attack: Countries in this region must be on guard!

Iran has warned neighboring countries that in the event of a US attack on its territory, it will retaliate against US military bases there. TASR informs about this with reference to the Reuters agency, for which an unnamed high-ranking Iranian official stated this on Wednesday.

“Tehran has warned countries in the region, from Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates to Turkey, that US bases in those countries will be attacked if the US attacks Iran … and is asking those countries to deter Washington from attacking Iran,” said an Iranian official.

American television NBC News reported on Tuesday, citing three sources, that Israeli and Arab officials have persuaded US President Donald Trump in recent days to postpone a possible military attack on Iran because they believe that the regime there may not be weakened enough to contribute to its definitive fall.

Israeli officials explained to the Trump administration their position, according to which they fully support regime change in Iran and US efforts to facilitate it, butthey fear that outside military intervention at this time may not help complete the process that the current protests have set in motion.

They proposed other ways to weaken the regime and support the protesters to the American side, such as providing communication options for ordinary Iranians, whereas, with few exceptions, internet access is blocked in the country and phone calls are restricted, economic sanctions are tightened, a cyber attack is carried out, or targeted military actions are taken against specific Iranian officials.

One of the Arab officials quoted by NBC News said that Iran’s neighboring countries do not currently support an American attack on Iran. According to the Wall Street Journal, Saudi officials have assured the Iranian government that Riyadh will not join any potential US operation and will not allow its airspace to be used for attacks.

The current protests in Iran began on December 28, 2025, and were sparked by economic problems caused by a sharp drop in the Iranian rial and rising inflation. The merchants were gradually joined by students and other groups of the population. The Iranian government called the protesters rioters and terrorists and accused Israel and the US of organizing the riots.

According to the US-based Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), the violence in Iran has claimed at least 2,571 lives so far including 147 members of the security forces and government supporters.
