Lagoa reinforces its positioning as a MICE destination
According to the Municipality of Lagoa, this action highlighted the global attractiveness of the municipality as a MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions) destination, highlighting the existing articulation between infrastructure, accommodation, services and location, factors considered decisive for attracting medium and large events.
In statements cited in the note, the Mayor of Lagoa, Luís Encarnação, highlighted that “the Lagoa Congress Center is a strategic infrastructure for the future of the municipality. Its reopening, in May 2026, reinforces our ambition to affirm Lagoa as a reference destination for business tourism and events. This promotional work is already bearing fruit, with events confirmed for the post-reopening period, including the 32nd National Congress of Internal Medicine, in May, and the AHRESP National Congress, in October 2026, which demonstrates the sector’s confidence in this equipment and in our municipality.”
Modern infrastructure with economic and tourist impact
According to the municipality, the Lagoa Congress Center presents itself as a modern and multifunctional facility, prepared to host national and international events, contributing to boosting the local economy, reducing tourist seasonality and enhancing the value of the territory.
With this initiative, the Municipality of Lagoa reaffirms its commitment to “the strategic development of the municipality, consolidating the MICE segment as a fundamental axis for sustainable growth and strengthening Lagoa’s notoriety in the national and international panorama of major events”.
