The world could be so simple. The German government wants to subsidize industrial electricity prices for energy-intensive sectors from 2027. The local industry representatives have picked up the ball and are urging the ÖVP, SPÖ and Neos to catch up with Germany. Otherwise there is a risk of competitive disadvantages, is one of the arguments of the captains of industry. The other thing: In the EU, every subsidy must be approved by the Commission. Germany has already received the green light for industrial electricity prices. Austria could therefore copy the system.
