Former Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala described Andrej Babiš’s cabinet as a government of destruction that came to destroy everything that worked in the Czech Republic, while offering no alternative. According to him, her goal will be to gain personal benefits and avoid problems. In his speech at Tuesday’s session of the Chamber of Deputies, at which the new government is asking for confidence, he also pointed out that Babiš’s cabinet ignores international reality, which, according to him, can threaten or even destroy the Czech Republic, reports TASR in Prague.

“We are entering a new period when the most important goal of the government will probably be to gain personal benefits and avoid its own problems. Government in the Czech Republic will therefore be based mainly on revenge and intimidation,” he pointed out. According to him, the government does not want to create anything useful, but to destroy everything that resembles the work of the previous government.
The reign of destruction
Therefore, he called Babiš’s cabinet a government of destruction. “From the first days in office, you are systematically destroying the good that was built up over the years. It is a government of cynicism that puts the personal interests of individuals above the interests of all citizens. You are destroying the trust, stability and hope of the young generation for a safe life,” the ex-prime minister criticized the coalition.
According to him, the government also ignores international reality. According to Fial, the Czech Republic is turning to the east and is unable to fully stand by the allies. “Such maneuvering is not worthwhile, it will have serious consequences for our security and economy. In a situation where we have a war in the immediate neighborhood, there is no neutral zone. The state either takes steps in the interests of the security of the Czech Republic, Europe and Ukraine or helps the aggressor by its actions and often inaction. There is no third option,” he declared.
Criticism of the government’s selfishness
Babiš’s cabinet is, in his words, a “government of selfishness” that relies on others to save the Czech Republic, while giving them no reason to do so. “You bring shame to our country and you don’t deserve our trust,” declared Fiala at the end of his speech, who was the first member of the opposition to speak in the plenary, while he did not get to the microphone until after 7:30 p.m. Until then, all ministers and other parliamentarians with preferential rights from the coalition spoke.
The meeting was adjourned at 9:00 p.m. and will resume on Wednesday at 9:00 a.m. House Speaker Tomio Okamura expects that the vote could take place in the evening at first.
