Tarcísio’s wife: country ‘needs a new CEO, my husband’ – 01/14/2026 – Politics

The first lady of the state of , Cristiane Freitas, commented this Tuesday (13), in a post on the governor’s (Republicans) social media, that “our country needs a new CEO, my husband!”.

Tarcísio had published a video of a speech in which he defends the arrival of a new CEO to manage Brazil, reducing the size of the State, carrying out privatizations and accumulating investments.

“The truth is one: Brazil cannot handle another 4 years of PT. We are limiting our potential as a nation and removing this backward government is the only side that the right needs to have in 2026”, stated the governor.

Tarcísio’s wife, with whom he has two children, Cristiane, 53, is president of the São Paulo Social Fund, which is usually managed by first ladies. According to the fund, she has a degree in public management and, throughout her professional life, she worked in the administrative and commercial areas.

As shown by SheetBolsonarists are uncomfortable with the governor’s pre-campaign for the senator’s Presidency (). They claim that Tarcísio is frustrated at not having been chosen for the mission.

Behind the scenes, politicians from the center still believe that the senator could end up giving up, paving the way for the governor. Flávio denies this possibility.

Businessman Filipe Sabará, who has articulated the relationship between the former president’s son (PL) and Faria Lima, said in a note that he met with the governor on Monday night (12) and that he reinforced the Bolsonarists’ dissatisfaction with him. According to Sabará, Tarcísio stated that “he will give full support and the necessary platform to Flávio, at the right time”.

The governor did not mention the senator in the publication in which he defends the PT’s departure from the federal government.

Tarcísio was the preferred candidate of the financial market and the center, which wants a candidacy that can unite the right. Publicly, the governor always said he would be a candidate for re-election, but, last year, he began to make more speeches with a national tone, critical of the federal government.

Also this Tuesday (13), the former first lady (PL) of Tarcísio involved the same theme. Before the announcement of Flávio’s pre-candidacy, speculation had increased that the governor would be a candidate for president with the support of Bolsonaro, with Michelle as vice-president.

After the former first lady publicly criticized federal deputy André Fernandes (PL) at an event in Ceará, creating discomfort in the party, Bolsonaro decided for his son. Allies interpreted that, in addition to an attempt to maintain right-wing control with the clan, the choice was also a way to stifle Michelle’s aspirations.

According to a person close to the former first lady, she had recently stated that her preferred name to run for President was Tarcísio. After Flávio’s announcement, Michelle even stepped away from activities in the PL, which was interpreted by party members as a sign that she was upset with her husband’s decision.
