Tecban advances with mini Banco24Horas amid the growth of Pix and fewer branches

the company behind Banco24Horas, plans to expand the installation of financial services machines in 2026, despite the growth of digital payment methods. This year, the expectation is to implement another thousand compact versions of the self-service machine.

Called mini Banco24Horas, the equipment supported part of the growth of Tecban machines in 2025, with a 177% increase in the number of devices installed compared to 2024. In total, there are 1,775 devices in operation in Brazil today.

The mini Banco24Horas allow withdrawals, balance checks, statement issuing, vehicle debt payments and cell phone top-up. They resemble card machines and can even be installed next to them in commercial establishments.

“Solutions such as mini Banco24Horas expand the network’s capillarity, offering services in more distant or smaller-scale regions, efficiently”, explains Tecban’s product superintendent, Gabriel Perera. “This solution benefits both customers, who can make withdrawals directly at the store, and retailers, who have a practical resource to assist with cash management.”

Tecban is expanding its network while the participation of digital payment methods, especially Pix, continues to grow. The share of instant payments launched in 2020 in transactions in Brazil jumped from 47% in the third quarter of 2024 to 53% in the same period of 2025.

Physical money remains relevant

In 2025, Tecban recorded a 75% increase in the volume of withdrawals at mini Banco24Horas. The company records movements of R$587 million in withdrawals by users in 2.1 million transactions on the devices. For Perera, physical money continues to play an important role in urban centers or regions with less structure.

“The Banco24Horas network expansion strategy is guided by positioning criteria, capillarity and operational efficiency, always with the customer at the center of our strategy”, points out the superintendent. “In practice, this means continually mapping the locations with the greatest demand and offering convenient access.”

The Northeast region has the largest number of mini Banco24Horas in operation, followed by the Southeast, North, South and Central-West. It is also in the Northeast that the greatest growth in machine installation is concentrated.

At the same time that digital payment methods grow, the number of bank branches, where infrastructures with services similar to those of Banco24Horas are installed, also decrease. Data from the Central Bank show that from December 2015 to the same month of 2025, the number of bank branches in Brazil fell from 22,866 to 14,990.

To meet the demand for physical money, Tecban says it adopts complementary strategies. First, the strengthening of the already consolidated Banco24Horas network in locations with greater demand and where partners can use the solution to generate movement and value for the business. Then, with the implementation of new solutions such as mini Banco24Horas.

In total, between traditional models and compact versions, there are 24,478 pieces of equipment installed by Tecban in Brazil at 18,629 service points. The mini Banco24Horas, previously called Atmo, have existed since 2021.
