The American president, Donald Trumpreiterated this Wednesday that with Greenland in the “hands” of his country I’LL TAKE will be much more effective, adding that “anything less than that is unacceptable“. “NATO becomes much more formidable and effective with Greenland in US hands. Anything less than that is unacceptable,” Trump said in a message on his Truth Social network.

The American leader once again defended his interest in the strategic island, under Danish sovereignty, just on the same day that representatives of Denmark, Greenland and the United States held a meeting to discuss Washington’s intentions to annex the territory.

The American capital will host this meeting in which the Danish Minister of Foreign Affairs, Lars Løkke Rasmussen, will participate; her Greenlandic counterpart, Vivian Motzfeldt; the vice president of the United States, JD Vanceand the Secretary of State, Marco Rubio

“The United States needs Greenland for its national security. It is vital for the ‘Golden Dome’ that we are building,” added the US president in reference to the ambitious anti-missile defense system that he has proposed to protect the country from space. “NATO should lead the way for us to achieve it. If we don’t, Russia o China “They will do it, and that’s not going to happen!” he insisted.

“Militarily, without the vast power of the United States, much of which I built during my first term and which I am now raising to a new and even higher level, NATO would not be an effective or deterrent force, not even close! They know it, and so do I.”

Denmark and Greenland, whose autonomy status recognizes the island’s right to self-determination, have criticized US threats, while opening up to increasing cooperation with Washington.
