João Cotrim de Figueiredo reacted to the statement from the former advisor to the IL parliamentary group, who accused him of sexual harassment and stated that he will file a criminal complaint in court. The presidential candidate, who had already denied the accusations, stated that he was unaware of the existence of an internal complaint, within the Liberal Initiative, in 2023.
Inês Bichão said this Thursday that the publication about alleged sexual harassment targeting Cotrim Figueiredo was published without her consent, adding that “the veracity of the facts” involving the presidential candidate will be determined in the courts.
In a statement sent this Thursday to the Lusa agency, Inês Bichão states that, on Monday, January 12, “content of a private nature, originally shared in a restricted and non-public context, was illegally disseminated” and without her consent, on the social network Instagram.
“This disclosure is being used in the context of an electoral campaign, against my will, in which I did not and do not have any intervention. The facts in question were reported internally during 2023”, highlights the lawyer and legal consultant.
