Danish troops land in Greenland amid threats from Trump

A Royal Danish Air Force plane landed at Nuuk airport, the capital of Greenland, late on Wednesday night (14), and soldiers in combat gear disembarked, as reported by a witness from the Reuters news agency.

According to the Joint Arctic Command, the Danish Armed Forces will support the preparation of military exercises.

Denmark and Greenland announced on Wednesday (14) that they have started to increase their and surrounding areas, in close cooperation with their allies.

The president of the United States, , reiterated on Wednesday that the US needs Greenland and that Denmark cannot be counted on to protect the island, although he stated that “something will be resolved” regarding the future governance of the Danish overseas territory.
