Guatemalan political scientist and writer Gloria Álvarez launches this Thursday (15) in São Paulo her new book, “How to defend freedom without destroying yourself in the process”.
With a liberal ideological line, in the book she addresses the emotional and social costs of supporting unpopular ideas in an environment marked by cancellation, digital lynchings and symbolic violence.
The Brazilian edition is a project coordinated by Lola Brasil, an entity that brings together liberal women. The back cover is by journalist Madeleine Lacsko, author of “Canceling the Cancellation”, and the preface is by Izabela Patriota, global fundraising director at Lola, an entity that is present in several countries.

Last Tuesday (13), the work was launched in Rio de Janeiro.
