Investigated for around 40 homicides, arrested on the coast of Paraná

A man investigated for about 40 murders was arrested by the Civil Police of Paraná, this Wednesday (14), in Matinhos, on the North Coast. The man had been on the run for eight years and is identified as leader of a criminal organization related to drug trafficking.

According to the Civil Police, investigations began in August 2025, after TIGRE (Integrated Tactical Special Repression Groups) was called by police officers from the Campo Mourão Subdivision to assist in locating a fugitive from justice.

The man was the leader of a criminal organization operating in Campo Mourão, Cianorte and municipalities in the region. According to the police, the homicides for which he is being investigated are related to criminal disputes over drug trafficking.

As the investigation progressed, the police identified that the suspect was living in Matinhos. The place was monitored and the police discovered the presence of two other members of the group, identified as responsible for managing drug trafficking, under the command of the fugitive.

“We identified that the fugitive commanded the group’s activities and that the other two prisoners provided direct support to the management of drug trafficking, keeping the criminal structure in operation,” said delegate Thiago Teixeira.

The three men were arrested on preventive arrest warrants for crimes related to drug trafficking and also for possession of a restricted firearm. During the action, two firearms and several ammunition were seized.
