There was a scandal, but the US government remains serious about Greenland – and US President Donald Trump continues to push for the world’s largest island to become part of the USA. This is the initial conclusion of the latest round of chief diplomacy in Washington. There on Wednesday evening (CET) US Vice President JD Vance and Foreign Minister Marco Rubio met with the foreign ministers of Denmark and Greenland, Lars Løkke Rasmussen and Vivian Motzfeldt. There was no quick agreement at the 50-minute meeting, but now a working group is to explore the next steps.
