The game between Palmeiras and Flamengo-SP in the third phase of the Copa São Paulo de Futebol Júnior, on the afternoon of this Thursday (15), was interrupted before penalties were taken due to a blackout at Arena Crefisa, in Barueri.
The match ended 1-1 in normal time. But as the players prepared for penalties, with heavy rain falling on the stadium, the floodlights on one side of the pitch went out.
With partial lighting and dark skies in the metropolitan region of São Paulo, the referee chose to interrupt the match until the Arena’s generator was activated.
