The governor (Republicans) reaffirmed this Thursday (15) that he will stand in the elections, minimized publications made by him and the first lady, Cristiane, about changes in the country and said that he supports (PL)’s candidacy for President.
“There was never this project. It’s just that you don’t believe it. But I’m always saying that my project is,” the governor told journalists when asked if he would seek the Presidency.
“Flávio is a big name, I already said that he is my candidate, that”, he added.
On Tuesday (13), Tarcísio published a video, recorded at the end of last year, in which he criticizes the PT. His wife commented on the message saying that Brazil needs “”.
The publication was widely criticized by Bolsonarists. The councilor of Rio de Janeiro (PL), brother of , mocked the message of the former governor (no party) holding a magazine that describes him as CEO.
“The message there is to rant against the “, said Tarcísio this Thursday about the . “We are saying the following: we actually need a manager who thinks about Brazil, who has the leadership to face the big challenges and solve the problems.”
“So, when you say that Brazil needs a new manager — and that was said in the context of a business event, that’s why the CEO is mentioned —, we are saying: it’s no longer possible,” he stated.
Tarcísio was asked how he saw criticism from members of the Bolsonaro family towards him and his wife, but he preferred not to answer.
He also defended house arrest for (PL), convicted of an attempted coup d’état, under the justification of what he called “humanitarian issues”.
“There is a humanitarian issue at stake here. The president. Look: a person who has reflux sometimes chokes at night and may have a suffocation problem,” he said.
The statements were made in the governor’s first public agenda of the year. He went to Suzano, in Greater São Paulo, to participate in an event that marked the beginning of work on access loops for the eastern section of the Rodoanel to the city and neighboring Poá.
The work is carried out by SPMar, the concessionaire that operates the Rodoanel section, and had been discussed since 2015, according to the company. The contract foresees an investment of R$1.2 billion and will deliver, within two years, six loops that will connect the cities to the express highway.
At the event, the former mayor of (PL), current Secretary of the Environment of the city of São Paulo and tipped to run for election to the Chamber, gave a speech of thanks to the governor, saying that the city’s population will be with Tarcísio “in São Paulo or in Brasília”. The speech ended with the delivery of a Japanese-style sword as a gift to Tarcísio.
