The police are investigating a traffic accident in Prešov, in which a pedestrian suffered multiple injuries after a collision with a car. The regional police spokeswoman from Prešov, Jana Ligdayová, informed that the accident happened on Thursday (January 15) shortly after 5:00 a.m. on Bardejovská Street.

“There was a collision with a 59-year-old woman crossing the pedestrian crossing. The driver of the car that hit the woman was a 27-year-old man. As a result of the collision, the woman suffered several serious injuries that will require several months of treatment,” said the spokeswoman. The driver was not under the influence of alcohol, which was confirmed by the negative result of the breath test. Due to her injuries, the pedestrian was unable to undergo such a test.
The case is handled by an authorized member of the District Traffic Inspectorate in Prešov, who is conducting criminal prosecution for the crime of bodily harm. PIn connection with this case, the police call for caution and consideration on the roads, especially in bad weather.
