Visits should be weekly, but there is still no date for them to start. The authorization given by Moraes occurred together with Bolsonaro’s transfer to the prison unit known as Papudinha, in Brasília.
Rodovalho says he intends to ask Moraes for permission to enter Bolsonaro’s cell with a guitar, to give a ministry, a celebration more restricted than a cult.
The suggestion that he be assigned to visit Bolsonaro came from his relationship with the former president and former first lady, Michelle. “I’ve been with him several times. We said some prayers. I like him, he’s been a friend for decades,” he says.
The priority at this time, says the bishop, is to prevent Bolsonaro’s depressive state from affecting his general health condition.
“A depressed person can somatize this condition into other illnesses. Life is more than moments of crisis or euphoria. He has to strengthen himself, balance himself”, says Rodovalho.
