Religious assistance authorized by the minister of the (Federal Supreme Court) to the former president () in Papudinha will be provided by a PL district deputy and a former federal deputy.

In the decision in which, this Thursday (15), Moraes authorized the access of the deputy of the Legislative Chamber of the Federal District Thiago Manzoni (PL), who is from the IDE church, and of the former deputy Robson Rodovalho, president of Sarah Nossa Terra.

Manzoni began providing spiritual support to Bolsonaro through the prayer group organized by the former first lady (PL) weekly when her husband was under house arrest. The deputy says that the objective is to bring Bolsonaro the word and comfort of God.

“At this moment, the visit has the character of continuing this spiritual accompaniment, with the purpose of bringing the word and consolation of God. The Bible contains teachings capable of consoling, comforting, encouraging and strengthening the human heart in all circumstances of life”, he states.

“I am convinced that, even in the face of the difficulties imposed by the moment, the president will continue to be strengthened by his faith, with a firm spirit and confidence to withstand adversity”, he adds.

Linked to federal deputy Bia Kicis (PL-DF), Manzoni is one of the main names in Bolsonarism in Brazil. He is president of the CCJ (Constitution and Justice Commission) of the Legislative Chamber and general secretary of PL-DF.

Last year, he helped organize motorcades to Bolsonaro’s condominium in protest against the restrictive measures. The parliamentarian has also employed in his office the former right-hand man of the former minister and former candidate for vice president of Bolsonaro Walter Braga Netto.

Religious assistance for Manzoni and Rodovalho, authorized at the request of the defense, will occur individually, once a week, on Tuesdays or Fridays, for one hour.

Last year, Moraes barred the bishop from participating in the prayer group organized by Michelle during her husband’s house arrest.

The minister stated that the group could not be used “with misuse of purpose, adding different and different people as members only to carry out visits not specifically required”.

At Papudinha, in addition to religious assistance, Bolsonaro will continue to have the right to 24-hour medical assistance and visits from his doctors without the need for prior approval. He will also continue undergoing physiotherapy sessions and receiving special nutrition.

According to the minister, the transfer to the new location will allow “increased visiting time with family members, free sunbathing and exercise at any time of the day, including the installation of physiotherapy equipment, such as a treadmill and bicycle, in compliance with medical recommendations”.
