Their scent fills the entire house, reminding us of the most beautiful moments from childhood. The donuts taste perfect both warm and after cooling, sprinkled generously with powdered sugar. It’s a perfect choice for family meetings, winter afternoons with tea or a sweet snack for Fat Thursday. Cottage cheese donuts are easy and quick to prepareso everyone can enjoy their taste.

Ingredients:

  • 300 g cottage cheese,
  • 130 g of wheat flour,
  • yolk (from 1 egg),
  • 3 tablespoons of powdered sugar,
  • 2 teaspoons of baking powder,
  • 2 teaspoons of vanilla sugar,
  • a pinch of salt.

Additionally:

  • oil for deep frying,
  • powdered sugar for sprinkling.

How to do it:

1. Rub the cottage cheese through a sieve to get rid of lumps. Add egg yolk, powdered sugar, vanilla sugar and salt. Mix everything until a uniform mass is obtained.

2. Add the sifted flour and baking powder and mix again until combined.

3. Form a smooth cake from the resulting dough and cut out circles with a diameter of 8 cm, and cut out circles with a diameter of 2 cm inside.

4. Heat the oil for deep frying in a frying pan or large pot. Place the finished donuts into the heated fat and fry them until golden brown on all sides. Remove the prepared dumplings with a slotted spoon and place them on a plate lined with kitchen towels.

5. Sprinkle the still warm cottage cheese donuts with powdered sugar or fine-grain sugar. Serve once cooled.

6. Store the donuts in an airtight container and use within 2-3 days.
