The group of 12 journalists who maintain the publication raises 74% of the amount needed to purchase the security and guarantee the future of the magazine.
The publication of the magazine continues to be ensured by and with unpaid wages. This group wants to buy the title and “present, at auction, a solid and winning proposal“, able to resist “to the attacks of any adventurer or some entity of unknown origin”.
According to journalists, the objective is to ensure that the magazine remains in the hands of its editors and continues to follow an independent editorial project.
What is the money raised for?
In addition to purchasing the title, part of the amount is intended for finance the start of a new phase of VISÃO, which will be managed by a company created from scratch and owned by journalists. In the first few months. there will be fixed costs despite the initial absence of revenue.
Expected expenses include printing, editorial production, equipment, software licenses, data storage, telecommunications and salaries.
Since August 1, 2025, the newsroom has been working remotely, with several salaries in arrears. Still, the group says it resisted “out of respect for the history of VISÃO and for believing in its futurebased on agenda-independent journalism, committed to the ethical values of the profession, democracy and Human Rights”.
The future of VISION
According to the group of journalists, the new VISÃO should start with a reduced structure, similar to the current one, being gradually reinforced. The plan goes through consolidate the printed and digital edition and, later, resume other publications of the brand, such as VISÃO História, VISÃO Biografia, VISÃO Júnior and VISÃO Saúde.
Any operating margin will be reinvested in the newsroom, namely in wages, working conditions and the production of reports and dossiers.
Journalists also highlight the importance of rebuilding the relationship with subscribers, both paper and digital, considered central to the sustainability of the project.
