Collision between a car and a bus on Friday afternoon on road II/574 near Diviacká Nová Ves in the district of Prievidza claimed the injury of the car driver. Four other people from the bus should have suffered injuries that will require medical treatment. The police are investigating the causes of the accident, Ingrid Krajčíková, head of the communication and prevention department of the Regional Directorate of the Police Force in Trenčín, informed TASR.
“A thirty-four-year-old female driver of a Peugeot passenger car, who was driving in the direction from Diviacka Nová Ves to Nováky, went in the opposite direction for unknown reasons, where she collided with an oncoming bus,” said Krajčíková.
According to her, the driver suffered injuries during the collision, as a result of which she was taken to the hospital. “There were supposed to be around 35 passengers on the bus, four of them were said to have sustained injuries that will require medical treatment,” she added.
The police performed a breath test on the 61-year-old bus driver, which ended with a negative result. An expert from the road transport department was also called to the scene. “The district traffic inspectorate in Prievidza documents the incident as a traffic accident. Its circumstances, degree of fault and cause are the subject of further investigation,” added Krajčíková.
