Divided into five modules, the training is aimed at editors and professionals who work with data-based reporting, even without technical training in the area.
Classes are online, in English, and last four weeks. The content can be accessed asynchronously, according to the students’ schedule. Activities include video lessons, readings, discussions and quizzes.
The instructor is , a data journalist who leads the data team at the Minnesota Star Tribune.
The training also includes the participation of Helena Bengtsson, data journalism editor at Gota Media and Bonnier News Local, in Sweden; Natalia Louzau, journalist at La Nación Data, in Argentina; Chase Davis, founder of Local Angle and former Minnesota Star Tribune executive; and CJ Sinner, director of graphics and data visualization at the Minnesota Star Tribune.
