The Kremlin revoked the accreditation of Gareth Samuel Davies, an employee at the UK embassy in Moscow.

“During a counterintelligence operation, a British secret agent, Gareth Samuel Davis, born on August 8, 1980, he was identified”.

“It was sent to Russia under the disguise of the position of Second Secretary of the Administrative and Economic Department of Embassy British”.

The announcement is from the Public Relations Center of the FSB, the Federal Security Service of Russia.

The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs accreditation of Gareth, an employee of the UK embassy in Moscow.

The British only have 2 weeks to leave Russia. And this deadline was even a “kindness” from the Russian authorities – so that it can conclude some outstanding matters.

“It was reiterated that Moscow will not tolerate the activities of undeclared British intelligence agents on Russian territory. It was stated that Russia’s uncompromising position on this issue will continue to be implemented in accordance with the country’s national security interests,” the Ministry states.

The United Kingdom’s acting charge d’affaires in Russia, Deini Dolakia, was summoned to present a firm protest, as described: if London escalates the situation, Moscow will give a “symmetric response”.

Protesters Russians appeared at the door of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs building, as Danae Dolakia was leaving, to protest against the British.

Meanwhile, the UK Government has already warned that it may responder to Russia’s decision. London recalls that this is not the first time that the Kremlin has resorted to “malicious and unfounded” accusations against members of its diplomatic corps.
