Gaza: The Trump plan is in place – First meeting of the technocrat “government”.

Γάζα: Σε εφαρμογή το σχέδιο Τραμπ -Πρώτη συνεδρίαση της «κυβέρνησης» τεχνοκρατών

According to Egyptian media, the Palestinian technocrats who will take over the transitional period in their Strip according to the ceasefire plan held their first meeting in Cairo. At the same time the Israeli military announced that it had carried out airstrikes in the Palestinian enclave in response to attacks earlier this week on Israeli soldiers in its southern part, which the Israeli military described as a “flagrant violation” of the ceasefire.

US President Donald Trump has announced that the so-called peace council for the Gaza Strip has been “formed”, a crucial step in the US plan regarding Gaza.

This council is tasked with overseeing a Palestinian interim committee of 15 apolitical technocrats who will manage day-to-day affairs in the enclave.

Saath’s goals

Former Palestinian Authority Deputy Minister Ali Saath was appointed head of this committee that will take over the administration of the Gaza Strip. Ali Saath is a civil engineer and former high-ranking civil servant, who will take on the heavy task of directing the first stage of the reconstruction of the devastated Palestinian territory.

Reconstruction efforts “will mainly be based” on Egypt’s Arab-Islamic plan, Saath said in an interview with Al-Qahera News, Egypt’s state media.

“The issue of housing is critical after the destruction of 85% of homes,” Saath stressed, stressing the need to restore “the dignity of the Palestinian citizen who sits in tents blown away by the wind.”

Accusations continue for breaking the truce

Hamas, for its part, accused Israel of “further violating” the ceasefire with the raids, which killed at least seven people, according to the Gaza Civil Protection.

As the second phase of the fragile truce between Israel and Hamas has begun, according to US Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff, the two sides continue to accuse each other of violating the truce declared in the Gaza Strip on October 10.

The Israeli military said it struck “terrorists, including commanders” of Hamas and Islamic Jihad in Palestinian territory yesterday.

At least six people were killed by Israeli shelling in Deir al-Balah, in the central part of the Gaza Strip, according to local health authorities. Palestinian media reported that among the dead was a commander of the armed wing of Hamas, Mohammed al-Holi.

The army said it acted in response to a “flagrant violation of the ceasefire agreement earlier this week west of Rafah”, in which individuals “opened fire on Israeli troops”.
