Interim president of São Paulo is charged with organizing: “Do your best”

The interim president of São Paulo, Harry Massis Júnior, met São Paulo fans in the outside area of ​​Morumbis, shortly after Julio Casares’ removal from office, on Friday night (16).

The fans. After the vote, they congratulated Massis, but made it clear that they wanted to see clearer changes in management, interrupting the interim’s attempt to thank them for their support for Tricolor.

“I come here to thank you, you were very firm in dismissing the president”, began Massis when speaking to the fans, in front of the stadium.

“You’re not going to thank us at all. You’re going to do what’s best for São Paulo Futebol Clube. The problem was never the fans, the problem is you in there, so, manage it well, ok, president? Manage it well”, demanded Baby, one of the leaders of Independente, organized by the club.

Casares’ departure

Members of the Deliberative Council of São Paulo Futebol Clube by 188 votes out of 223 possible.

45 councilors rejected the request and two others voted blank. The vote was based on the complaint made public in December last year regarding an alleged scheme of irregular marketing of Morumbis boxes on show days.

Now, Casares will be removed from the club’s presidency until a General Assembly of members is held, which will approve or not the decision of the 223 counselors present (in situ and virtually) at this Friday’s meeting.

President of the São Paulo Deliberative Council, Olten Ayres will have 30 days to call the assembly. Until then, the club’s vice-president, businessman Harry Massis Junior, aged 80, will assume the interim presidency.

If the partners approve the impeachment definitively, Massis will remain in charge of São Paulo until the end of the year, when new elections will be organized by Tricolor Paulista.
